Man Dies After Being Struck By Car On Busy CT Roadway

The incident happened around 5:25 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30 in Tolland County, in the Town of Andover.

An Audi A7 Quattro Prestige was traveling eastbound on Route 6 approximately 500 feet east of Hickory Hill Drive and the man was walking along the right shoulder of Route 6 eastbound, Connecticut State Police said.

"For an unknown reason, the pedestrian crossed over the eastbound fog lane, entered the eastbound travel lane, and was struck by the vehicle," Connecticut State Police said.

The pedestrian, identified as Tolland County resident Todd Uriano, of Vernon, was transported to Windham Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. 

The Audi driver and a front passenger reported no injuries. 

The Audi was towed from the scene due to disabling damage, said state police.
